Biographical Description

Ron TerryRon Terry graduated from the University of Hawai`i at Hilo in 1980 with a B.A. in Geography. After obtaining a doctorate in Geography from Louisiana State University, he returned to UH Hilo as a professor, where he served for 5 years. Although active to this day as an affiliate professor and UH Hilo supporter, Dr. Terry left full time teaching in 1992 to develop a consulting practice focused on environmental impact assessment and remote sensing. He lives in Hilo on the Big Island with his wife, Arlene, and enjoys surfing, kayaking, travel, and music. Dr. Terry is also active in volunteer work and has served for many years on the Marine and Coastal Zone Management Advocacy Council, the Mauna Kea Management Board, and the UH Hilo Chancellor's Advisory Committee.
